Information for Certified Housing Counselors (SHFPP Partners)



Certified housing counselors participating in the program provide free foreclosure prevention counseling to homeowners receiving notices under this program. Once homeowners receiving notices take action and call our hotline for help, they will be connected directly to one of over 20 local counseling agencies. These counseling agencies can set up an appointment for the homeowner to receive face-to-face assistance in finding alternatives to foreclosure. The counselors are on hand to help and will negotiate on behalf of the homeowner.
